Yuki Ishida has joined SUMO Agency

Starting May 20th, Yuki Ishida will join the Sumo Entertainment Content Agency ‘SUMO Agency’. His primary focus will be on producing Sumo Shows tailored for foreign travellers and contributing to Sumo-related entertainment globally. Consequently, Ishida will relocate to Osaka and will occasionally make appearances at DDT shows, typically once or twice a month, as part of this arrangement.

Mr. Yoshinori Tashiro, who serves as the representative of the SUMO Agency, has appeared in Hollywood movie "John Wick: Consequence" and also in Indian films. The agency's roster includes former Ozeki Tochinoshin and actors who gained attention in the Netflix drama "Sanctuary". Many Sumo wrestlers are expected to make their acting debut as sumo wrestlers. Regarding Ishida's joining, Mr. Tashiro expressed his expectations, stating, "In sumo, there is no classification based on weight, and there is charm in smaller wrestlers defeating larger ones. Ishida has the potential to throw down larger wrestlers with his small body. We hope to convey the charm of sumo to foreign visitors to Japan as much as possible."
