On the 3rd of August in Tokyo, a Press Conference took place and it is decided that on the 14th at Korakuen Hall, former KO-D Openweight Champion HARASHIMA will be going against the fastest debutant in DDT’s history, Takeshita Masada.
A resident of Sakai City Osaka Prefecture, spanning 180cm, weighing 84 kilograms and at the age of 20, he was ranked 3rd in the Shorinji Kempo Inter-high during his high school days. He took a sabbatical from University to enter DDT earlier this May and in just over 3 months he will be making his debut in the DDT ring.
Masada: “I am very thankful to be able to debut within 3 months and at the same time, I hope I’m not being underestimated just because of the pace of it. I’m going to leave my mark in this match. I was very surprised that the year HARASHIMA debuted was the year I am born. Regardless, when we’re in the ring, we are wrestlers, and I’ll use my youth to overwhelm him.
HARASHIMA’s comments by letter: “It’s amazing you’re debuting just after 3 months! However, training and the actual matches are entirely different so please go all out without holding back. I’m looking forward to it.”
According to Sanshiro Takagi, he originally applied for the DDT Teen project, but he was still studying in the University at Kansai and due to the COVID-19 situations, talks had ceased. Later on, he took a sabbatical from university and applied for the rookies entrance. With his intentions cleared, he was allowed into DDT. Takagi’s comments: “The coach told me that after a month of training, he had the necessary skills to get into real action. I saw his movements and I was astounded. I couldn’t wait for him to debut, and I can’t wait for him to get more experience and I can’t wait for him to aim for the top of DDT. DDT’s youths will be the centre of attraction and they’ll excite the wrestling world from there. What kind of wrestling journey will Takeshi Masada take? It all depends on him but as the company we’ll put out expectations on him and do our utmost to raise him as a wrestler.”
Masada first got hooked on wrestling by watching a video of Kota Ibushi when he was in the second year of middle school. He went on to watch Street Wrestling and matches with Yoshihiko from there and became a fan of DDT there onwards.
Masada: I’ll work my hardest in training for the upcoming 2 weeks and I’ll weave my three years of Shorinji Kempo into my wrestling arsenal.
