[Updated] Update on PayPal Unavailability

The PayPal payment option, which had been unavailable as of 15:03 March 13th, 2019, has been restored as of 17:46 March 13th.

We have identified the issues listed below pertaining to payments through PayPal.

[Occurrence (Japan time)]
-From 15:03 March13st, 2019 and ongoing

[Specific Issues]
-New membership registrations (to paid tiers) using PayPal payments cannot be completed
-Changes to paid membership tiers using PayPal payments cannot be completed
-Cancelling membership registrations to paid tiers using PayPal payments cannot be completed

[Applicable Devices]
-All (PCs and smartphones)

[Details of the issue]
-This incident has occurred to a systems issue at PayPal.

When the last PayPal issue occurred earlier this month, PayPal responded to our inquiry by saying that “PayPal’s systems stopped transactions as a result of automatic checks, but upon further investigation, it was confirmed that there were no issues, and thus the halt on transactions was removed. We apologize for taking over three days to resolve the issue; we will work to ensure that similar incidents do not occur again,” and we had requested the submission of a specific plan to prevent the recurrence of similar issues.

We sincerely apologize to our customers that the current issue has surfaced despite the above situation.
