“Fans’ choice 6-man Tag Match turns into Takeshita-Higuchi grudge match, vouches to win the KO-D Openweight title!”
On August 26th at Ueno Park Amphitheater stage, the Non-alcohol Beer Garden Wrestling show took place. The yearly tradition of having the fans to choose the main event ended up having Takeshita and Higuchi on opposite ends in a sort of grudge match before their September 25th confrontation. Takeshita vouches that he will bring the title with him.
This year, DDT’s midsummer season event, “Beer Garden Wrestling” took place in an outside hall and it was a Non-alcohol occasion for once. The main event was the yearly tradition where 6 of the top members of the DDT roster were pit in a 6-way tag match but the fans would pick the teams by lottery. The match ended up being Higuchi, Ueno and Chris going up against Takeshita, Yoshimura and Endo. Just two days from their first count, Higuchi and Takeshita brings the heat but the match began with Higuchi going up against fellow KO-D Tag Team Champion Yoshimura.
Higuchi and Yoshimura started first with an exchange of shoulder tackles. Higuchi and Takeshita followed up with three lariats with Higuchi taking Takeshita down on the fourth. Takeshita and Yoshimura followed up with a series of back-and-forth while trading blows. Higuchi tried to finish Takeshita with the Brain Claw slam but Takeshita countered with an elbow. Following that, Chris laid Takeshita out with a Michinoku Driver II and tried to finish him with the Praying Mantis Bomb but Takeshita countered with the Knee and Jumping Knee. Both moves were caught by Chris with an Enzuigiri and a German Suplex follow up. However, Takeshita saw through both and got the 3-count pin with the second Jumping Knee.
Takeshita: I’ve just returned from the US and it’s been a while since I’ve went against these guys so it was very enjoyable. I’ve fought Higuchi many times. Both him and myself have become stronger over these few months and won’t give in to the other. We’ll be able to show a new style of DDT going forward. Coming back here after 4 months, I think DDT’s momentum is slowly coming back. My aim is to give our momentum and little extra push with the upcoming title match. Higuchi accepted my challenge so I’d like to accept the momentum of the current champion as well.
Higuchi: Going againt Takeshita…he’s strong. Real strong. Our next bout will be on September 13 at Asakusa. We’ll go at it and we’ll go head to head on the 25th at Korakuen.
On going against his partner Yoshimura: I should know his strength the most and he showed it off. It makes me confident in our title defense on the 4th of September at Nagoya.
Also on this day, the Scramble Bunkhouse Bring-Your-Own-Weapon Anywhere Falls 8-man tag match, Crocodile Panda Dragon 3-way Match, and the Scariest! Ghost Story Shin Numabukuro 3-Way Tag deathmatch, truly fitting of the Beer Garden Wrestling show.
For the Scramble Bunkhouse Bring-Your-Own-Weapon Anywhere Falls 8-man tag match, there was a blow-up pool where Yukio Naya threw Kazuki Hirata with a chokeslam for the victory.
Daisuke Sasaki KOes the “14-year-old Junior High wrestler” El Unicorn! “I’ll chase you to the depths of hell, and show your pathetic face off”
DAMNATION T.A’s Charisma “Daisuke Sasaki” went all out to knock out 14-year old Junior High wrestler El Unicorn as he promised to do.
Ever since the July 24th Korakuen show where DAMNATION T.A and El Unicorn went face-to-face; Unicorn’s mask has been removed and was taunted for it. On this day, Sasaki and Unicorn went one-on-one but he removed the turnbuckle’s pads and used all sorts of weapons as he normally would. When the referee was accidentally knocked out by Unicorn, Sasaki took the opportunity to remove his mask and finish the match but Unicorn’s rival in the DDTeeeen project Ilusion brought a second mask to save the day. It gave new life to Unicorn by laying the Diamond Cutter and Moonsault Press and brought Sasaki to a stop. However, with a strong lariat and his signature Cross Face lock he won the match. Post-match, Sasaki requested a handshake from Unicorn but as everyone would expect, immediately turn on him with a kick below the gut and removed his mask once again.
Backstage, Sasaki said: Unicorn, my fight with your ass isn’t over! I’ll chase you to the ends of the earth and bare your stupid face to the world. And then I’ll be reborn as Sasacorn! It’s not over yet!
Unicorn: I’m really pissed off! He tricked me at the end, kicked me and tore my mask off. I won’t give up my fight with Sasaki until I’ve properly beaten him! I’ll beat him for sure. Prepare yourself!
